"The Liberty Cap strain is the most famous of the Psilocybe semilanceata species. Its psychoactive properties were first recorded in London, England in 1799 when an unwitting family picked the mushrooms in a park and processed them for food. It took until the 1970s before this species became popular in the psychedelics community. The physical characteristics of Liberty Caps include cream-coloured caps that range from 0.5 to 2 centimetres in diameter, a distinct umbo on the top of the cap, a slender cream-coloured stem that is usually wavy and sometimes blue-tinged at the base. Its spores are dark purple to brown in colour. Psychedelic effects of this strain are reported to include visual hallucinations, merriment, euphoria, bursts of energy, and vibrational buzzing throughout the body."
